Mountain Gate II: Buddha This face is woven from undyed natural white yarns with linen warp. The variegations of color in the face are due to different breeds of sheep. The whiter white is from Maine island sheep, Lincoln-Romney cross. The off-white, which picks up the gold in the halos, is spun from Corriedale fleece, which was richer in lanolin. Susan made the haloes themselves by crocheting lace with metallic thread. and couching it in place. The round shape is reinforced with a wooden ring.
